The goal is to raise, through art, people’s consciousness concerning serious environmental problems. The event will take place near Ibiza City  on the Island of Ibiza. The area of more than 50.000 sq. meters represents a perfectly appropriate spot for hosting an open air gallery with monumental sculptures of unique and innovative artists for sale.

Open Air Gallery

The area represents a perfectly appropriate spot and festival place for hosting an open air gallery with primarily monumental sculptures for exhibition. Visitors enjoy the vibrant atmosphere in the sculpture park, International exchange takes place, communication through art workshops, plastic-free environment, green products, live performances, communication with artists, environmentalists who educate on sustainability. Various international artists and art collectives, working in the field of modern art will be invited to present their sculptures, whose multiple facets will also include kinetic, multimedia and interactive sculptures, always with the idea of not only emphasizing but also incrementing awareness of saving the seas from plastic pollution. All art pieces together will create a magnificent outdoor sculpture park of considerable dimensions and great artistic as well as environmental interest and value.

Art collectors and guests are invited to the preview opening at the end of September 2021 to observe an exclusive selection of sculptures for purchase and get in touch with artists, representatives of ecological non-profit organisations.

The Artproject

The project is meant to arouse international interest and help contribute to the preservation of our environment, its sustainable development and to stimulate the spirit of eco conscious life. The main aim of the sculpture park is to point out the problem of plastic usage all over the Mediterranean Sea, especially the Balearic Islands. Invited artists are asked to reflect on the indicated problem and mirror it in their artworks.

The World Economic Forum has shown that 32% of 78 millions tons of plastic packaging end up in the oceans every year. In particular, this amount corresponds to one truck of plastic thrown into the sea every minute. Two times a year in May and September a new exhibition with a new sculpture selection will be displayed. The idea is to start a movement of spreading the information on the subject matter internationally as well as influence local communities of Ibiza and the Balearic islands to live in plastic-free environment. Art Saves the Sea is an art project of ecologic character. A series of openings of exhibitions with live bands and DJs are planned in order to support the sculpture park and its most important and major objective. In order to show up and emphasize the problem at the opening of the first exhibition in August/September 2021, numerous DJs, musicians and performers will be invited to create a spiritual, vibrant atmosphere at the area while artists will perform in the sculpture park.  This performance will not only combine the potential of live music and audience interaction with sculptures in the park but at the same time it will also create the appropriate  atmosphere for contacts between experts in art, science , ecology , psychology and technology.

Some of the themes of the project are:

sculpture  –  ecology  –  charity  –  opening event  –   conference of experts  –  artist in residence  –  worksshops – ecomarket. The Open Air Gallery in Ibiza is a platform for international collaboration in the field of contemporary art and create a synergy between art and technology for the benefit of the non profit organization.
